'Growing' by Katie Cecilia

'Growing' by Katie Cecilia

My first poetry collection ‘Growing’ is out now on Amazon. Growing explores the rollercoaster of healing, self discovery and accepting change.

Growing is made up of five chapters, each named after a flower on the cover of the book; these are Daisies, Dahlia, Lily of the Valley, Forget-me-Not, and Daffodils. Each one of these flowers has a deeper meaning that links to the poems in the book. I wrote Growing during my early twenties—a time of constant chaos that I was trying to find comfort in. This book is about the ups and downs and everything in between. Growing is about showing that even when you feel stagnant, even when it all feels too heavy and confusing, growing is a process, not a destination, so you are not stuck; you are growing.

What is ‘Growing’ about?

The book is for people of any age who are going through the motions of self-discovery. The journey of self-discovery is a rocky one, which is why this book covers a range of aspects in life, from friendships, relationships, careers, and inner self-worth. Growing helped me navigate the confusion and distress of deciding who I want to be and has been a source of reassurance at many low points. Writing this book helped me; I hope it can be whatever you need, too.
